The Key of Salvation

“Because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him [whoever adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] will not be disappointed [in his expectations].””

‭‭Romans ‭10:9-11‬ ‭AMP

For some reason, I tend to over-complicate the process of being saved but today I got my reminder in Romans 10. If you also over-complicate/overthink the process of salvation, read this post in its entirety. There are a couple of things that I want to point out from this set of verses concerning salvation can be of benefit to all of us.

Acknowledge and Confess

The first thing is that we must acknowledge Jesus for who He is. You ever find yourself in a situation where you say, “I acknowledge that I was wrong” or “I acknowledge that to be true.” Acknowledgement comes from us becoming aware of something or someone. According to google search, acknowledge is defined as accepting or admitting the existence or truth of something/someone. An individual has come to surrender to the truth that Jesus is Lord and God raised him from the dead. Although I initially got baptized when I was eight years old, I did not get saved until I was nineteen. At that time in my life, I experienced the power of God take me out of depression, soul ties and break passions of lust. I was in a dark place, call it the “dark ages” because my mental health was destroyed but the power of Jesus Christ saved me. I acknowledged his power, love, and forgiveness which led to my confession that Jesus is Lord of my life.

How can we acknowledge what we do not accept as truth?

Believe In Your Heart

The following is just as simple but heavy, Believing. Many people acknowledge the power of God but do not want to believe, why? Believing requires trust but I will get into that later. Believing in Jesus is the gate way to being set free from all chains of sin because that is when his power is activated. Because you believe, all things in Christ Jesus are yours (Matthew 21:22), HALLELUJAH! Believing in Jesus Christ gives you and I access to freedom, deliverance, power, and authority in Christ Jesus.

Believing Means to Trust

Lastly, Believing is Trusting. It takes trust to believe in the power of Jesus Christ. The scripture defines believing as trusting and relying on Jesus to do all that he said he will (Romans 10:11 AMP). Recently, I shared with my sister my thoughts on the fact that Salvation in Jesus Christ is all about believing who He claims to be. That sounds simple but is difficult for many because by default we were born into sin and enemies of the cross. To believe in Jesus is to let down your guard in thinking that you can do without his help, his power, his love and accept him to be the truth. So, it is up to us to make the decision for ourselves if we will follow God or not. The one who chooses to believe is saying that they accept Jesus to be the truth and the life. Make that decision today in your heart to believe and openly confess it with your mouth and life that “Jesus is Lord”!

God Bless You.
