God Is Your Sustainer

Many things that we face in life can be obstacles that hinder us. Various trials and tribulations (sexual abuse, mental attacks, rejection, depression, and anxiety) disable people from being who God created and called them to be. I too was faced with childhood trauma that oppressed me for many years. I attempted handling it on my own but, I failed. I turned to relationships that only led to more hurt. I fell into depression and was bombarded by thoughts of suicide. Spiritual warfare was real! My life was under attack, and I wasn't capable of saving myself. God was/is my refuge. I remember repeating one scripture over and over until it was embedded in my brain. God's word became my medication, literally. In those times of my life, God proved to be my sustainer. He held me up when I couldn't hold myself up. So, I encourage you, whatever trial you're facing today, God is your sustainer. If you could have helped yourself, you would have done it already. Rely on God and not yourself or external factors.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73;26

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.
Isaiah 40:29
