God has called you!
This encouragement is for anyone who lacks the confidence and trust in God to know that HE will fulfill what he has purposed for your life.
In Jeremiah 1:5-12, God and Jeremiah had a conversation. In this conversation, God called Jeremiah to be a prophet to the nations. Currently, Jeremiah was around the age of 13 to 16 years old. Jeremiah was looking at all his inadequacies and told God that he was too you. Of course, God made it clear that he was going to use Jeremiah to fulfill his work here on Earth. But like Jeremiah, we question if it is even possible. I have questioned God on how his plan for my life would be fulfilled. After reading Jeremiah's encounter with God, I wanted to remind you of two things.
#1 God knew you.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5
Consider the fact that God is saying that before you were born, he not only created you but personally knew everything about your life. Nothing about your life is a secret to God, your good, bad, and ugly moments are all familiar to God. Even though God knows all of this about us he still called you and chose you for a purpose. When God told Jeremiah that he knew him, not just his age but what he placed inside of him to be used for His glory. I thank God that He knew me before placing me in my mother's womb and still called me to be his child and servant.
#2 God's plan will be completed no matter what.
"But the LORD said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you." Jeremiah 1:7
When I read this verse I thought, "Jeremiah it really doesn't matter what excuse or complaint you produce because if God called you to do it, it will happen. The same way when God called Moses to be the voice for the people of Israel before Pharaoh and Moses complained that he was not a good speaker. Yet still, God made it happen even assistance from his brother Aaron that he be the voice of the people. This should give us confidence because the Lord is faithful to his words.
How many times have you questioned if God is going to use you to do his will? I have but today I was reminded that every child of God has to walk out God's will for their life.
Here are two verses that confirm that God will do what He said from the beginning of time:
Romans 8:29-30
29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
Isaiah 55:11
“So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
Today, be encouraged that our God called us to fulfill his purpose for our lives. He already knew you from the beginning when the Word was with God and the Word was God. God is faithful. God declared in Jeremiah 1:12 that He is watching over his word to make sure it is fulfilled. God cannot lie so instead of us doubting God and his plans, let us trust him fully with our gifts and talents. Let the Lord lead you in whatever he has called you to do.
