I can't tell you how many times I assumed that the way my prayers were going to be answered was through "works". Yes, I always found myself praying but then working for that prayer to be answered or putting in more to see a positive result. The only thing is that it got me no where but I was frustrated and annoyed. The only way to receive anything from God is through Faith. It took Faith in God to save us and it takes Faith to receive his promises.
In Luke 8:45-46, Jesus was touched by a woman who had faith enough to believe that one touch of his clothes would do the trick. NGL, that's some serious faith. She wasn't looking for him to approach her, pray for her, or anything else. The lady simply wanted to get close enough to touch him. How about you? Do you find yourself looking for God to physically come down and answer your prayers or send someone with a message for you from God, or do you have enough faith to believe what you cannot see? The woman only heard that Jesus could heal anyone of their illness and held onto that word. Our faith should cause us to hold onto the word of God. Faith is trusting in God and trusting in God is a result of holding onto his promises like the lady held onto Jesus' clothes. Jesus did not respond to her holding onto his clothes but he responded to her faith. Jesus knew that the lady who touched him was one that had faith to receive healing. So, I encourage you to walk in faith today for whatever you're seeking Jesus for.
